The Easter Bonnet Parade on Fifth Avenue is a New York City tradition that has been celebrated for over 150 years. Every year on Easter Sunday, crowds of people gather along Fifth Avenue, dressed in their finest outfits and hats, to participate in, watch or photograph the fashion.
The origins of the Easter Parade can be traced back to the mid-1800s, when wealthy New Yorkers would attend Easter services at the city’s fashionable churches and then promenade along Fifth Avenue to show off their new spring clothes.
Over time, the tradition evolved to include people from all walks of life, and the parade became a festive celebration of spring. The Fashion Sizzle team were in attendance at this festive event and these are some of our captures.
