While taking the stage for his highly anticipated 30th anniversary celebration of Reasonable Doubt, Hov was spotted wearing the ultra-rare Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Reference 6270, famously nicknamed “The King.” The July 10 show opened Jay-Z’s Yankee Stadium concert run celebrating his landmark catalog.

The extraordinary Rolex has direct ties to Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman. Sotheby’s says the Reference 6270 originated from a special commission connected to the Sultan in the 1980s and that only eight examples have been identified by the market. The 18-karat yellow-gold Daytona features a fully pavé diamond-set dial, sapphire hour markers and a bezel lined with baguette-cut diamonds.

This is not simply a luxury watch. It is a piece of horological history.

The Reference 6270 is considered one of the rarest Rolex watches ever created, and Sotheby’s specifically identifies Jay-Z among the known owners of the model.

While social media posts have described Jay-Z’s “King” Daytona as an $8 million watch, that exact valuation has not been confirmed by a major auction house. GQ reported in March 2026 that an example of the Reference 6270 had sold at auction for $5.2 million, describing the watch as one of the most expensive Rolex models ever made.

Still, the moment could not have been more fitting.

Jay-Z—Brooklyn-born, culturally dominant and now one of the world’s most serious celebrity watch collectors—stood inside Yankee Stadium celebrating three decades of Reasonable Doubt with “The King” on his wrist.
