OG Anunoby’s championship season just received another major honor.
Following the New York Knicks’ unforgettable 2026 NBA title run, Skechers has announced that a signature shoe for Anunoby is officially in development. The milestone places the Knicks forward in rare company as one of the few NBA athletes with a signature basketball sneaker at Skechers, joining Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid.
The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear manufacturer announced Thursday that OG Anunoby’s player edition SKX Nexus will be made available for pre-order soon. The “NYC Blue” colorway of the sneaker was worn by Anunoby during Game 4 of the NBA Finals when he pulled off a miraculous tip-in following a missed three-pointer from Finals MVP Jalen Brunson.
For Anunoby, the moment is bigger than footwear. It is a celebration of a season that cemented his place in New York basketball history.
The defensive standout played a major role throughout the Knicks’ championship campaign, bringing his signature combination of strength, versatility, composure, and timely scoring when the team needed it most. His standout Game 4 performance in the NBA Finals, including 33 points while wearing the blue-and-orange Skechers SKX Nexus “NYC Blue” player exclusive, became one of the defining images of the Knicks’ road to the title.
Now, that connection between OG, New York, and Skechers is set to become even more personal.
Anunoby’s swift reaction sealed a narrow 107-106 win for the Knicks, instantly tying the exclusive SKX Nexus style to one of the most clutch NBA moments in recent memory.
“[Skechers] knows I often switch things up mid-game, so having a consistent flow of options helps keep me comfortable and confident on the court,” Anunoby said in a press release. “Most meaningful was the ‘NYC Blue’ PE I wore during Game 4 that was a nod to the City, my team, and most importantly, the best fans anyone could ask for.”
Skechers President Michael Greenberg confirmed that the brand is working on a signature shoe for Anunoby, though official details about the model have not yet been released. Fans will have to wait for the first look, but the announcement signals a major step for both the player and Skechers Basketball.
Anunoby joined Skechers in 2025 and quickly became one of the brand’s most important faces on the NBA court. During the playoffs, his player-exclusive Skechers styles drew major attention, especially the bold “NYC Blue” SKX Nexus colorway that paid tribute to the Knicks and their electric postseason run.
The signature shoe announcement also reflects Skechers’ continued rise in basketball. The brand launched its basketball division in 2023 and has built a growing roster that includes NBA and WNBA talent. Joel Embiid became the first NBA player to receive a Skechers signature model with the SKX JE1, and now OG Anunoby is preparing to write the next chapter.
For Knicks fans, it is a well-deserved reward for a player whose calm presence, elite defense, and championship-level performances helped bring the Larry O’Brien Trophy back to New York.
OG Anunoby is officially more than a champion.
He is now a signature sneaker athlete.
Readers who are interested in the Anunoby’ Skechers SKX Nexus NYC Blue PE can sign-up for notifications now at skechers.com/og-anunoby-player-edition. Retail pricing for the PE has not been confirmed, but standard SKX Nexus styles are priced at $100.

Congratulations to OG Anunoby and Skechers on a major moment for basketball, New York City, and sneaker culture.
Skechers identifies Embiid’s SKX JE1 as its first signature basketball shoe; Anunoby’s will be the next confirmed NBA signature project for the brand.
