Steph Curry revolutionised the NBA by turning the three-point shot into the league’s favourite weapon. Whether measured by

metrics or efficiency, the three-pointer has become essential to optimising offensive possessions.

Tonight, the Golden State Warriors point guard made history as the first player in league history to sink 4,000 three-pointers.

The four-time NBA champion entered the game against the Sacramento Kings with 3,998 career three-pointers. His first three-pointer of the night came in the first quarter, following a steal by Moses Moody and an assist from Jonathan Kuminga. Curry attempted one more three-pointer in the second quarter but missed.

The record-breaking shot came with 8:19 left in the third quarter, assisted once again by Moses Moody. As the ball swished through the net, the entire Chase Center erupted in applause for the Warriors’ iconic No. 30.

Curry has held the record for most three-pointers made since December 14, 2021, when he hit his 2,974th career three-pointer, surpassing the previous record set by NBA legend Ray Allen, who played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat. Curry later became the first player to reach 3,000 three-pointers, a milestone only James Harden has since joined.
