LeBron James did it again on Friday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar made history yet again, and this time he entered a club that he is the only member of.
According to NBA Retweet, James has reached 41,000 career points.
James is the only NBA star to ever cross this threshold, proving once again that there has never been a player like him.
James was already the only NBA star to score more than 39,000 career points.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is now in a distant second place in the NBA standings with his 38,387 points.
The closest active player is Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, who has 29,259 points.
During Friday’s game, James scored 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists—yet another triple-double
And while this is a massive achievement, James’ numbers have dipped a bit so far this season.
He is currently putting up 23.0 points, but both his field goal and three-point percentages have fallen in 2024-25.
As for his Lakers, they have now lost three in a row and have slipped down to the tenth spot in the West.
So even though James is making history, this season has been a struggle in a number of ways.
At this point in his career, James will continue to rack up achievements all the way until he retires.
He is so far ahead of other players in many ways that the historic moments will keep coming.
And while James is very happy to be doing this, he really wants to win.
Reaching 41,000 career points is special, but it unfortunately happened during yet another loss for James and his troubled team.
