Fashion Week is something that is on most people’s calendars each year, and it’s an excellent opportunity to see all the dynamic and upcoming trends for the year. It’s a chance for designers worldwide to show off their latest collections, and Paris Fashion Week is the place to be if you want to know what will be trending in the upcoming year.
To stay one step ahead of the game, we’ve rounded up some of the designer brands that have caught our eye at Paris Fashion Week 2023, so keep reading below.
Versace
A brand that knows how to make a statement and is known for its bold and unique pieces, Versace certainly did not disappoint this year, keeping it fresh and fun and ensuring that all eyes were fixated on them.
Their collection was a fusion of modern trends while maintaining the classic Versace style alive, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it influences your next designer dress purchase as well.
Accessories were a big focus this year, with oversized earrings and chunky bracelets seen across their collection and statement belts. The fabrics of the collection itself were made up of bold cuts, bright colors apt for the summer months as well as prints that are sure to make you stand out from the crowd.
One piece that certainly left a lasting impression was a bold red dress that featured a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. The statement accessories included a belt and chunky black boots giving the whole outfit a unique yet elegant look and was one of their signature pieces of the entire collection. It left a lasting impression, much like some of their classic pieces in the past.
Gucci
Of course, no fashion week would be complete without the involvement of Gucci, and for good reason. Though their bags and accessories are often in the spotlight, their jackets stole the show this time.
Intricate embroidery was a big part of Gucci’s collection this year, alongside bright colors, which seems to be a popular choice this year. Such fabrics were, again, paired with accessories, this time focusing on bags and chunky necklaces.
Gucci was a particular brand that pulled off the use of bright colors well. They took classic pieces and layered them with shades of yellow, pink, and green to add a splash of color and elevate the outfits to another level.
The embroidery could be seen on their dresses and jackets, and upon closer inspection, it was clear to see just how neat and precise the work on it was. Their skill and craftsmanship were presented in full force, showcasing the brand’s attention to detail and the importance of a high finish, reminding us why Gucci is one of the top designer brands out there.
Chanel
Chanel is another classic brand we weren’t surprised to find at fashion week. Keeping up with their brand image, most pieces were elegant and classy. Think suits, dresses, and dainty and minimalistic accessories.
Taking a slightly different route from the other brands, the Chanel collection was made up mostly of muted colors, with beige being one of the key colors of the collection, followed by various shades of white and black.
To compliment that classy look, their accessories were minimalistic and dainty, with simple pearl necklaces and matching earrings to tie the entire look cohesively.
One of their signature pieces this year had to be the black and white tweed coat with just a hint of bold color thanks to its red trimming. The coat was toned down with a classic white dress and knee-high boots in black, a very on-brand image for Chanel and showing that Chanel couldn’t simply follow the crowd.
Though these are just a fraction of the brands seen at Fashion Week this year, it’s a testament to the fact that it is an opportunity to showcase some of the most talented designers worldwide. Versace, Chanel, and Gucci demonstrate that it is possible to not only keep up a classic brand image and pave the way and create and set trends yourself. With a blend of classic and modern, many brands could create something new and nostalgic simultaneously, and accessories were certainly a key area of focus that we could see across the board. Fashion is more than a star-studded affair or influencer commentary. The world of fashion is built on dedication to the craft, meticulous attention to detail, and pride in showcasing one’s work to the world. This Fashion Week, much like the others, was a clear indication that there is no shortage of creativity and innovation in the fashion world.
