Karrueche Tran debuted a new hairstyle during the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards on March 9.
The 34-year-old model and actress rocked a short pixie cut to the coveted ceremony, showing off her high cheekbones and gorgeous face. Wearing a white Khaite off-the-shoulder blouse, a gold belt, and high-waisted matching trousers, styled with gold statement earrings and a few sparkly bangles.

Karreuche Tran attended the 2023 Green Carpet Fashion Awards looking absolutely stunning with a fresh new haircut on March 9. The short haircut in question was a wet-looking choppy pixie, a marked departure from her usual inches of hair, and it might be the best haircut she has had in years.
Tran arrived at the eco-friendly fashion awards in a stunning black gown with a deep V neckline, chunky silver jewelry, and a black fur coat. She paired her edgy ensemble with her choppy pixie, which was styled with loose waves. Her piece-y short hair looked “wet” as if it was slathered with copious amounts of hair gel or mousse but not in a way that looks greasy or stiff and crunchy. Her waves looked perfectly “undone” without any clear parting, laid baby hairs, or any other evidence of deliberate styling.
Her makeup complimented her wavy pixie cut and dark ensemble. She opted for shimmery silver and dark matte eye shadows smoked out on her lids without a lick of makeup on her waterline — the lack of pigment on the undereye area made the metallic smoky eye the main attraction. Her nude glossy lip fit perfectly into the entire makeup look.
She wore her pixie cut to Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood gala on the same date, but her short waves were brushed towards the front to create tousled bangs for a super cute style. Though Tran’s pixie looks amazing, we wonder if it’s truly a new haircut or simply the work of a very realistic wig. We’ll be keeping close tabs on the actor to see whether or not this short hair is short-lived.
