Viola Davis wore custom Stella McCartney on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. McCartney told British Vogue that the dress was inspired by one of her previous silver looks, but she redesigned it in purple after Davis’ turn in The Woman King, saying, “because we all know that purple is a royal colour.” Davis’ floor-length purple gown had an attached cape and was fully eco-conscious.
