While Rihanna famously hasn’t released album since 2016, fans are eagerly waiting to see the pop star make her comeback on arguably one of the biggest stages in the world: the Super Bowl.
Ahead of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, she held a press conference to talk about the highly-anticipated headlining performance. “It feels like it could have only been now,” Rihanna said. And as for how she fit her dozens of global hits into such a short framework? “The setlist was the biggest challenge… deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate.”
As is always the case with Rihanna, there’s a lot of attention on what she’ll be wearing to the game. Her press conference look gave us much to be excited about: Styled by Jahleel Weaver, Rihanna wore a look from Alaïa‘s Spring 2023 collection, consisting of an oversized, off-the-shoulder, shearling-trimmed moto jacket and crocodile-print jacquard split skirt. (The top revealed a black bra strap, which we can only assume was Savage x Fenty.)
She complemented the striking ensemble with a pair of leg-climbing heels from Gianvito Rossi (custom-made for the star) and Maria Tash jewelry, including massive silver and diamond dangling hoop earrings, a chunky silver chain choker and a series of silver rings.
In terms of glam, Yusef slicked Rihanna’s long tresses in a braided ponytail, leaving two pieces of hair to frame her face, while Priscilla Ono created a sultry brown smokey eye and a bold, bright red lip (using Fenty Beauty, naturally), the latter matching her red nails.
