Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out in their neighborhood to volunteer at a local foodbank. They visited Windsor Foodshare, an organization that gives food to those in need.
“They were just so friendly,” Sarah Kember, manager of Windsor Foodshare, told People. “We found them so open and putting us at ease. They were comfortable in everything they were doing. They’re such a lovely couple.” Kember added, “They wanted to be involved, they wanted to be hands-on and not just come and see what we were doing. They asked, ‘Can we physically get involved and do stuff?’ I’m more than happy for more hands to help.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales spent the majority of their time at Windsor Foodshare helping to sort donations, and preparing packages for pick-up by families in need. Here, see the best photos from their volunteer outing:
According to People, Kate and Prince William helped the center sort and assemble donation packages for struggling families in the community. Windsor Foodshare manager Sarah Kember joked, “They did alright. One was better than the other, but I won’t say which.” Visiting charitable organizations is a big part of the royal gig, but Kember said she was surprised when the Waleses wanted to get their hands (figuratively) dirty. “They wanted to be involved, they wanted to be hands-on and not just come and see what we were doing. They asked, ‘Can we physically get involved and do stuff?’ I’m more than happy for more hands to help.”
I don’t know who was the better volunteer, but when it comes to style, we know who the clear winner is.
