Angela Bassett wore a Silver Sequin Gown @ 2023 Golden Globes

Angela Bassett, 64, was in attendance at 2023 Golden Globe Awards wearing a sleeveless silver halter Pamella Roland dress , Chopard jewelry along with a pair of Sarah Flint’s “Mihaela 120” platform heels in custom dyed silver satin.

For her glam makeup and hair, Bassett had rosy pink cheeks, a plum-colored lip, subtle cat-eye makeup, a defined brow, and hair parted to the side with a finished bob look.

Angela’s appearance at the Globes comes after she received a nomination for an award during the event in the Best Supporting Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture category. The nomination was for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which made quite a lasting impression in the industry. She ended up winning the honor and making history as the first MCU star to be nominated and win.

“I stand here grateful, grateful, grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press for giving me this honor along with Wakanda Forever,” she said in her inspirational speech. She went on to further express her gratitude for her “amazing team, who every day each and every one of them work along with me and beside me,” and for her family, “Courtney B Vance, Bronwyn and Slater.”

After expressing love, she went on to say, “My mother always said that good things come to those who pray” and gave a shout-out to her “Marvel Disney family,” including Ryan Coogler, Kevin Feige, Luis de Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Nate Moore. She also mentioned the late Chadwick Boseman. “We loved we healed, and we were surrounded each and every day by the light and spirit of chat with Boseman and we have joy in knowing that well with this historic Black Panther series,” she explained. “It is a part of his legacy that he helped to lead us to. We showed the world what black unity leadership and love looks like beyond, behind, and in front of the camera and to the Marvel fans. Thank you for embracing these characters and showing us so much love. We just made history with this nomination. And with this award, it belongs to all of you, all of us.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an action/adventure sci-fi film about a character named T’Challa, who is heir to the “hidden but advanced kingdom of Wakanda who must step forward to lead his people into a new future and must confront a challenger from his country’s past,” according to IMDB. Angela plays the role of Ramonda and the film also includes Chadwick, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o.

Before she wowed with her Golden Globe nomination and win for the film, Angela appeared in other 2022 projects, including Wendall & Wild and 9-1-1 Lonestar. She’s also set to star in the upcoming films, Damsel and Wildwood. Another recent project was voicing the character of Regalla in the Horizon Forbidden West video game.

The Golden Globes honor the top film and television performances of the past year. This year’s event, held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael. The occasion includes a star-studded list of nominees, including Zendaya, Viola Davis, Austin Butler, Jennifer Coolidge, Michelle Yeoh and Selena Gomez, among numerous others. This year’s Globes will notably be the first held in-person since 2021, and will include a pre-show hosted and streamed online by Variety.
