Every summer, clothes are making us walk a different path, towards something that represents the season well. Sometimes, everything is white, as we head towards the biggest wedding season of the year, and sometimes everything is floral, as a reminder that nature is taking over. This year, clothes are telling us: Let’s go to the beach. Here is why.

On Our Way to the Greek Islands

When you think of the Greek Islands, what is the first image that comes to mind? To most it will be white houses with blue trims, and to a greater part of the rest, the Mediterranean Sea. The Vanessa Bruno designer understood that and kept it as the main focus, while creating the 2022 summer collection, called “Summer Odyssey.” The result is quite incredible, as you feel propelled to a Greek island, the minute you put them on.

It is mostly due to the colours that were used, which are naturally the blue and white so typical of this part of the world. It also uses the blue eye in accessories, part of a myth, as it is supposed to keep you safe from evil spirits, when you wear it on you. We can assume that it will do the same when you grab your cabas, raffia or purse, before leaving in the morning, and head down to the beach. But the second element that really remind you of summer on the islands, is that these clothes don’t restrict you. They are large and ample, while light, to keep you from overheating. A reminder that it can get extremely warm on Greek Islands, come summer time…

Prints and Accessories, that remind us about the Beach

Prints are often what define the clothing trend for any season. Some will feature animal coats, other flowers, and sometimes they will simply be abstract. This summer, they are about all the elements you will find at the beach. The most famous one, in 2022, is without a doubt the sea star. It has found its way onto dresses, t-shirts, shorts and even bathing suits. Some are in their simplest form, simply designed through one line in the shape of a star, while others have been hand-drawn to perfection. They are joined by other items which are as popular on the seaside, such as a lighthouse, the sea, the sand, as well as all the toys that kids plays with, in the form of a plastic rake, shovel and a container, to make square or round shapes.

As if this wasn’t sufficient, you can also find all kind of accessories with these given shapes and other ones, as well. They are found on collars, belts and ear rings. One of the most famous seems to be the octopus. It comes in various sizes, shapes and colours and can be funny looking or simply gorgeous. And if you really want to stand out, you can always wear a small beach ball around your neck. That will definitely get you noticed. Just make sure you are in a playful mood.
