Outside of appearing in a number of “flashback” photographs on husband Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter’s birthday on December 4th, Beyoncé has maintained a relatively low profile in the second-half of 2021. Before the year closes, however, she’s raised an eyebrow or two as she’s appeared in campaign imagery for her “HALL OF IVY” footwear and apparel collection with adidas.
Produced in partnership with the Texas-native’s IVY PARK athleisure brand, the upcoming collection takes several established and new footwear silhouettes from the German sportswear behemoth and presents them in a bold color palette approved by “Queen Bey.” The beloved Ultra Boost receives a vibrant neon green makeover, while newer propositions like the Super Sleek 3-Strap boast an easier-to-digest color arrangement. As suggested by both the capsule’s title and editorial direction, the “HALL OF IVY” range of sneakers and clothing draw inspiration from the posh setting associated with some higher education institutions. Checkered blazers and trousers appear alongside faded hooded sweaters for a mix of pieces that’ll help even the least enthusiastic fashion-goer build a formidable wardrobe.
As with nearly-everything Mrs. Knowles-Carter does, the internet went into a frenzy when campaign material for the “HALL OF IVY” collection was posted. Beyoncé undoubtedly fueled conversation, but so did cameos from the artist’s children, Blue Ivy and Rumi. Furthermore, modeling done by Natalia Bryant and James Harden got some netizens talking.
