For the first time in the French Maison’s history, Dior parters with a musician to create a full collection. Designer Kim Jones selects rapper Travis Scott for this collaboration. The Grammy-nominated artist and L’OFFICIEL Hommes star is the founder and CEO of Cactus Jack, a creative collective responsible for some of the most successful collaborations spanning food, fashion, and more, from McDonald’s to Nike.
“From the stage to the music, it was never just about the clothes but about the experience,” Scott shared with Vogue. “It’s how you see and hear it, how you see the music,” he commented on the runway show, which was inspired by Christian Dior‘s deep-rooted connection to Texas. “It’s about taste, isn’t it?” Jones told Scott. “Some people have it, some don’t. Luckily you do!”
Influenced by the diverse Texan landscape, looks are covered in rattlesnake patterns and desert flowers. Elsewhere, the house’s signature toile de Jouy has been given a cactus makeover, while select tops are dressed in ghostly motifs. “They’re imaginary things that kind of pop up in my head, and I draw them by hand,” Scott said. “These are knitted by hand, which is so f*cking nuts. It’s crazy.” Meanwhile, the Dior Saddle Bag has been reimagined with a solid stirrup handle.
