Late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died from colon cancer in August 2020, won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama on Sunday, for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on his behalf. “He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” Ledward said in an emotional speech, adding that her husband “would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you you can,” if he could accept the award himself.
