Steph & Ayesha Curry Celebrate Christmas By Gifting 1,000 Oakland Families
Their foundation, Eat. Learn. Play will donate thousands of books to schools throughout the California city, People reports. The donation boxes will include six books each, each with five children’s books and one adult book from Steph’s “Underrated” book club selection.
Nothing is more basic, more essential, more foundational, or more important to a child’s success in life than the ability to read well,” the couple said in an official statement. “We know there is a lot of work to be done, but with partners like Literati, we’re hopeful that we will be able to make an impact on these children’s lives.”
By partnering with Literati at least 14,000 book boxes will be donated to students at Oakland Unified Schools who are learning remotely during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. And 1,000 boxes of books have already been donated at a recent Christmas event thrown by the Currys.
