Skin Care: Natural Ways to Care for Your Skin Fall 2019

Every season presents a new challenge to the skin, and fall is no different. Sure, you could let your skin take care of itself, but that doesn’t always pan out well. Those who want their skin to look great even in the fall, may want to consider the following tips.

1. Thicker Moisturizer

It may be a good idea to change your moisturizer at least for the time being. Fall brings a little chill, and that could dry out your skin. This is because of the lack of humidity in the air. Having a thicker moisturizer helps trap a little more moisture on your skin, keeping it hydrated and pretty soft.

You do not want to feel like your skin is cracking, which could happen without a thicker moisturizer, like shea butter. There are other moisturizers out there you can choose, such as honey, tallow, and cocoa butter. You want to try as many of these as you can to find the one that best suits your skin.

2. Water Intake

Many people tend to slow down when it comes to water consumption during the fall and winter. This does make sense since the heat has gone down considerably, so drinking water doesn’t seem all that important. Don’t let the temperature slow your consumption of water because your skin is going to need moisture.

The skin creates its own moisture, and that depends on your consumption of water, so make sure you keep a water bottle handy at all times. You want to make sure you drink about half a gallon of water every day. This may sound like a lot, but your body is made up of mostly water.

3. Immune Strength

The next thing you may want to keep an eye on is your immune system. Making sure your skin is ready and able to fight off infections or other similar issues is important. Dry skin makes it easier for bacteria to break through and could end up making you sick.

This could be one reason some people get sick during the fall and winter. Work on eating foods filled with loads of vitamins, and consider taking vitamin supplements to keep your immune system strong.

4. A Little Exfoliation

Okay, this is something some people tend to overlook and sometimes even avoid during fall and winter because the skin feels dry. The idea of gently scraping your skin to remove dead skin cells feels like it would hurt your skin. Over-exfoliation might tear your skin, and that is why you only want to exfoliate with a soft brush and to do so slowly.

Those dead skin cells you are allowing to sit on your skin could make it easier for your skin to become dryer and even more irritated. Dead skin cells create a barrier between your new, healthy skin and the moisturizer you are using, which is what makes this practice vital in the fall.

5. Lip Balm

The next thing you want to focus on is your lips. Your lips are incredibly sensitive to the moisture in the air and require a little extra care during autumn and winter. You are definitely going to want to use a good lip balm, like eos lip balm, which contains natural ingredients.

Now, it is important to keep in mind that if you want your eos lip balm to work like a charm, you are going to have to exfoliate your lips a bit. Again, you are going to have to be gentle, but this can be done. You can mix a teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of sugar to create a lip exfoliate rub.

Hopefully, these suggestions help keep your skin feeling soft and wonderful this fall.
