Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was baptised on Saturday (July 6) in a ceremony attended by Royal Family members and friends. Members of the royal family gathered at Windsor Castle on July 6, 2019, for Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s Christening . The event was captured by Photographer Chris Allerton . Queen Elizabeth was not in attendance at Archie’s christening because of another engagement . Family members including Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Doria Ragland were all present.
Archie was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby who used water from the River Jordan and the silver Lily Font as is tradition for royal christenings.
The Lily Font has been an integral part of royal baptisms since being commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840.
Archie wore a handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe – the original design now too fragile to be used was made in 1841 for the christening of Victoria.
Meghan wore Dior styled with Christian Dior pumps and Cartier earrings.
Catherine wore a salmon-pink Stella McCartney dress styled with a red Juliette Boterill pillbox hat . She is also wearing Gianvito Rossi pumps.
