The sneaker company New Balance claim that Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld ripped off its logo. New Balance has sued Karl Lagerfeld for infringing upon the look of its signature sneaker.
A New Balance spokesperson made a statement stating that, “On June 3, 2014, New Balance filed a lawsuit against Karl Lagerfeld to protect our intellectual property rights related to our iconic Lifestyle footwear designs. Although we cannot comment on the specifics of the case, we believe it is vital to actively and vigorously defend our brand.”
Nhas claimed that the Lagerfeld sneaker will confuse the customer as to what the origin of the sneaker is because it is too similar in the design of the New Balance sneaker .
