John Galliano is the new creative director for Russian perfumery, L’Etoile. As the creative director, Galliano will be working on a private label for the company, he will also be responsible for communication and brand images for the firm, as well as developing accessories makeup and for L’Etoile .
In a statement, Galliano said it was “a really exciting opportunity and challenge for me. I’m sure our collaboration working together will lead to the creation of new and exciting events in the world of beauty for Russian women. I believe that the results will be very beautiful and breathtaking.”
Galliano was heard on tape making anti-Semitic remarks in a Parisian cafe in March 2011, which led him to being dismissed from his creative director positions at Dior and his eponymous label and he was also found guilty by a Paris-based court the following September. Galliano had recently worked in Oscar de la Renta’s New York studio . In August 2012 Galliano filed a lawssuit against Dior and his namesake label for breach of contract, seeking nearly $20 million, in regards to his termination from both houses.
