Australia-born , IMG model Ajak Deng tweeted by implying that she had been dropped from Balmain’s Fall 2014 runway show because of her race. Deng has appeared in ad campaigns for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, the Gap, Kate Spade and others . She has also rocked the runway fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Hermes,and Lanvin .
Balmain recently cast ten black models for their Fall/Winter 2014 show which is more than any other fashion design house. Other design houses have cast between one and three black models.
Deng took to twitter to express her disgust with fashion brand Balmain and accuses them of racism. Below are some of Deng’s tweets . Her twitter account has since been deleted at the advice of her agency.
