The Proenza Schouler Fall 2013 RTW Collection color palette was black , white and grey .The silhouettes wore tailored structured jackets, skirts, pants and coats. We feel a little grown-up now,” expressed one of the designers Lazaro Hernandez “We’re not in our twenties anymore! We’ve grown up on a business level and aesthetically and we wanted the collection to feel that way.”
Designers Hernandez and Jack McCollough were inspired by the artist John Divola’s 1970s series of photographs of deserted houses on California’s Zuma Beach (the interiors of which he graffitied), with views of the seascapes through shattered windows—images that blended the line between artifice and reality.
“We’re in a coasting, sort of serene mood,” Hernandez added, “and we wanted transparency, and a softness of form, color, and texture—snowy, somehow.”
